Standing and Walking Workshop

In this two hour workshop, we’ll teach you how to properly use your legs (from the top of your legs to the bottoms of your feet) when you’re standing and walking. There are five rules for your legs and feet while standing. And four rules while walking. You’ll learn and practice these rules. It’s really quite simple to learn, but it takes repeated attention to turn your usual bad habits into proper habits. Learning these simple rules is like learning your ABCs – you keep repeating your ABCs until you learn them.

Without exercise, everyone walks over a million steps a year. That’s a phenomenal amount of steps. Over 70 years, that’s 70,000,000 steps. This is why alignment is so important. Do it well and you’ll feel much better. Your knee cartilage is the most vulnerable tissue in your legs. If you're not standing and walking with good alignment, you'll wear down your knee cartilage much faster.

The location for the standing and walking workshop is at The Center of Movement and Balance. The advanced workshop is also at the Pilates studio. The Center of Movement and Balance is at 155 South Highway 101 on the coast highway in Solana Beach. Click here for a map showing the location of the Pilates studio.

You need to be able to easily see your ankles. If you wear pants, make sure that they can be rolled up enough to easily see your ankles and about five inches above your ankles.

No date is currently scheduled for the next standing and walking group workshop at this time. If you send me an e-mail, I can put you on an e-mail list and alert you when the next standing and walking group workshop is scheduled.
