Stick-Stretch Class In Orange County
Where Is The Class and When Is The Class
The stick-stretch class will probably be held in Orange County after January 1st. There are no plans at this time to have a class in Encinitas.
I have an e-mail list for letting people know when the next Orange County class will be. If you're not on the e-mail list, send me an e-mail and I'll add you to the list. Click here to send me an e-mail.
Information About The Two Locations
The Circles-Of-Light Center Location
Click here to find a map for the location of the center. The address for the Circles-Of-Light Center is 24351 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Woods, CA. 92637.
The Aliso Creek Beach Location
If you want to carpool to the beach, then meet at the center to carpool to the beach. It’s suggested that you arrive at the center about 8:30 and plan to leave at 8:45 to go to the beach. This will give you time to go to the bathroom and to say hello. There are bathrooms at the beach. The class begins at 9:30.
Click here to see a Google map of Aliso Creek County Beach. It costs $1 per hour to park. There is a machine that accepts both money and credit cards. I don’t think it makes change, so bring $1 bills. I suggest paying for three hours of parking. The street address for Aliso Beach County Park is 31131 S. Pacific Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA. 92651.
Once you park, walk to the south end of the beach. You’ll walk past the bathrooms. The beach ends by some rocks. This is our place to stretch.
If you want to call someone on Sunday morning – please call Socorro at 949-291-3174. You can e-mail me before Sunday if you have any questions or call me at home.
The Stick
One length of a stick doesn’t work well for everyone. If you don’t have a stick, it’s very good to e-mail me and let me know how tall you are. Then I’ll make sure that I have a stick that will be good for your height. The class is open to everyone. You’re welcome to invite your friends. Have your friends e-mail me what their height is. I’ll have extra sticks, so if you haven’t reserved a stick, there will be one that you can use (but maybe not at the best length for you).

About The Class
We’re meeting to open our bodies more fully by doing standing stretches with the use of a long stick for leverage and balance. The opening will be focused on your chest, shoulders, and rib cage in a beautiful way; in an easeful and effective way; in a gentle and sustained way. These stretches also open your back and around the core of your body (your waist area).
All of the stretches are gentle and sustained. There is a sequence of 12 – 16 stretches that gradually open your chest, shoulders, rib cage, and abdomen. The class is for an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half. The stretches are not strenuous. These stretches are better than yoga to loosen and relax your chest, shoulders, and rib cage.
This opening of your body facilitates energy flow – freeing stagnant energy and inviting an inpouring of new energy.
The people attending will be mainly people who work with Charles and Racquel; and their friends. This allows the class to be more about clearing and freeing ourselves than a usual stretching class. You’re welcome to invite friends to this class.
Cost Of The Class
The classes are on donation basis. Donations are placed in a backpack by the sticks.
Paying For The Rattan Sticks That I Sell
The price of the rattan sticks vary. Generally sticks six feet long or less are $30. Sticks over six feet are $40.
I appreciate the alive feeling and firm flexibility of the rattan sticks that I sell. If you want a less costly stick, you can make one from doweling at Home Depot.
What You Need To Bring
If the class is outdoors, bring an extra layer of clothing. We may be in the shade for part of the class. I’ll have sunblock. Bring a hat (if you choose) and water. Some people will choose to eat nearby; after the class.
As we know, if, that morning, you don't choose to come to the class, that is okay. You don't need to call. Do what is best for you that morning.
